Personal Training

A personal trainer is a person who helps people exercise for a range of different goals and reasons. These may be to increase cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, physical endurance or to increase physical ability for a specific sport or occupation.

 

The human body is actually very adaptable and able to change, it is often our lifestyles we find hardest to change and it is our lifestyles our bodies adapt to. Changes to lifestyle can decrease weight, increase muscle bulk or increase flexibility. These in turn can have an impact on self esteem and sometimes reduce pain.

 

Personal trainers with a high level of skill, experience and training can also help in injury rehabilitation and injury prevention by ensuring proper muscle balance and flexibility. For example someone with rounded shoulders and poor posture will have over tight Pectoralis muscles (across the chest) and weak upper back muscles which are not strong enough to hold the body in proper position. By correcting the muscle imbalance through exercise and stretching it will significantly reduce the risk of injury and pain.
