Psychology & Clinical Psychology

Clinical psychologists are specialists in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychological and mental health problems. Our clinical psychologist will discuss the issues of concern for you and then may assess your emotional, intellectual and behavioural functioning. They will also exploring thoughts, emotions and behaviour and trace their origins helping you to develop effective ways of controlling and coping with these difficulties and helping you to implement changes that enhance wellbeing and awareness, and alleviate the presenting problems.

 

Sessions are usually up to one hour in length and the number of sessions required will vary on the individual person.

 

Conditions treated & specialities include:

  • Anxiety.
  • Depression.

Treatment techniques used:

  • Application of psychological theory and scientific research to solve complex clinical problems requiring individually tailored interventions.
  • Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
  • Schema Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
